Full Moon in Taurus 2024

On November 15, 2024, the Full Moon will be illuminated at 23 degrees of Taurus.  This celestial event, infused with the elements of water and earth, invites us to release fixed patterns that may have kept us safe in the past but are currently preventing us from moving forward and transforming. A Full Moon, known for its heightened energy, occurs when the Sun is directly opposed to the Moon, fully illuminating the moon's radiant energy within the zodiac sign it occupies. This alignment may cause emotions to amplify, but it also brings hidden subconscious thoughts and patterns to our conscious awareness, offering a powerful opportunity for emotional healing and growth.

The Sun in Scorpio opposes the Moon in Taurus, and the Moon is in conjunction with the planet Uranus. Uranus plays a significant role in this transit, assisting us in connecting the realms of the seen and unseen, the conscious and the subconscious, both within ourselves and concerning others. Taurus, ruled by Venus, is often seen as reliable and practical, with a strong appreciation for harmonious environments. However, Taurus can also manifest as stubborn, possessive, and rigid on a lower vibration. This full moon presents an opportunity to evaluate your position on the spectrum of personal values and how this position influences your relationships with others (Uranus). We all have personal values that we cherish, guiding us in navigating the world, forming connections, and organizing our lives. While we usually seek respect and understanding for our values from others, what happens when our values clash with those of others? In the United States, we see this clearly as a result of the most recent presidential election. When our values clash, and neither side is considerate of the other, we become divided, rigid, and stubborn.

The conjunction of the Moon and Uranus encourages us to embrace curiosity. Uranus is a fascinating planet; its axis is tilted nearly perpendicular to that of the other planets in our solar system, causing it to rotate on its side. Some scientists believe Uranus once rotated like the other planets but was flipped over by a massive collision; others believe one of the moons fell out of orbit and flipped the planet sideways—keep these theories in mind as I reference them later in this post. This unique rotation can be interpreted in many ways, but I particularly appreciate viewing it as an opportunity to recognize the beauty in our differences. Although Uranus is tilted on its side and rolls as it orbits the Sun, it still participates in our solar system. We don't fully understand what events led to Uranus's unique rotational axis, but it likely has a fascinating story. If planets could speak about their experiences, imagine the trauma that Uranus probably endured and the lessons in resilience it could share with us. Now remove the planets and insert humans. Imagine what we could learn from one another if we just dropped our rigidity and got curious about the other perspective.

The Sun in Scorpio urges us to undergo deep transformation. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, which has recently gone direct in its final transit through Capricorn for the remainder of our lives. For the next 19 years, Pluto will be in Aquarius, the home of Uranus. For humanity to advance, we will need to learn how to coexist with one another. It has become a natural tendency for us to cut people out of our lives who do not share the same values as us, but that only furthers the divide and separation. If we want others to respect our values, we must learn to respect theirs and find common ground. It's important to set aside superficial differences, the fears that lead to misunderstandings, and the disillusionment caused by external influences (looking at you, media). Go deeper. What are the emotions hiding? It’s important to recognize that this isn’t about the other, the external, the enemy. Repression of the shadow is its projection outward as the enemy. This Full Moon encourages you to recognize what you may be suppressing, confront those inner conflicts, and strive for harmony within yourself. When we are stuck in an emotional state, it becomes difficult to understand the differing values that others hold. For harmony to exist in the external world, it must first be achieved internally.

This energy is enhanced by Venus in Capricorn, which is squaring both the North and South Nodes. It represents a pivotal moment for us to make a choice: we can either move toward new opportunities or remain stuck in our old habits. Sticking to old ways won’t lead to new opportunities for coexistence; instead, it reinforces the patterns that have held us back, kept us apart, and fostered conflict and chaos. You have a choice in this matter, but in my experience, resisting evolution becomes increasingly difficult until the universe intervenes and sets me back on the right path in the most dramatic, life-altering way. Just ask Uranus about its experience; the universe knocked it sideways!

To explore this change, here are some things to consider:

-          What are my core values, and how do they influence my relationships?

-          What fixed patterns have been created to keep me safe in these values?

-          Does this feeling of safety keep me safe, or does it disconnect me from seeing other perspectives?

-          What steps can I take to better understand differing values and adapt to other possibilities?

This Full Moon in Taurus presents an opportunity for us to break free from our ingrained habits by exploring and reconciling our inner worlds. It serves as a reminder that harmony in our external relationships begins with achieving an internal balance of the psyche. As we navigate this transformative energy, it is important to honor our personal values while also respecting the values of others. By doing this, we can create a more cohesive and empathetic society. Personal growth and collective progress are interconnected, and this Full Moon encourages us to nurture both with intention and compassion.

Ground your soul, balance your psyche, and allow the energies to alchemize within you.
