Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra 2024

On March 25, 2024, the Earth will align between the Moon and the Sun along the ecliptic plane, creating a penumbral lunar eclipse in the sign of Libra. The energy that this transit carries may be felt more intensely than typical Full Moon energy due to this ecliptic alignment. I know I’ve been feeling the energy this entire week - coming in the forms of increased anxiety, exhaustion, and release. This lunar eclipse occurs on the Aries (fire) - Libra (air) axis, initiating balance between the self and others. We’re being encouraged to assess what hasn’t worked for us in the past regarding all relationships: romantic partnerships, friendships, family relations, and working relationships. If these relationships have not been grounded in mutual respect and reciprocity - they need to be released. We are moving forward into a new age, and old ways of engaging will only keep us repeating old patterns.

The Moon in Libra is in a trine aspect to Pluto in Aquarius. Moon trine Pluto is one of my favorite aspects of astrology because it allows intuitive access into our inner psyche and reminds us of our inner strength to navigate challenges. This aspect reminds us that the only betrayal is the betrayal of self - and through reflection of our deepest wounds, we can better understand that we are not our traumas, our past, or our fears. We realize that we are human, and we are learning how to navigate life in the best way that we can. We learn through, trial and error, that the best way to navigate life is by understanding and integrating the lessons that we learn through our relationships with others. We are reminded that our lessons are the roadmaps through this experience of life. Have compassion for yourself, and work to accept all of the parts that have remained hidden - they are just as valuable as the parts you share with the world.

The Moon in Libra is also in a sesquiquadrate to Jupiter in Taurus. This is a minor aspect, yet brings potential difficulty if it’s not acknowledged. Jupiter wants to help us expand, learn, and grow, and the Moon carries our subconscious patterns that are coming to the surface with this full moon. The sesquiquadrate aspect between the celestial bodies encourages us to integrate our emotions with our desire for growth. It can be easy to fall back into old patterns and replay outdated cycles, which is why the integration of subconscious themes into conscious awareness is an important aspect of this lunar cycle. Failing to merge these energies can result in feelings of a lack of motivation or purpose.

Another important aspect of this lunar eclipse is the Yod (finger of fate) formed between Venus in Pisces, Jupiter in Taurus, and the South Node in Libra. Yods occur when two planets form a sextile aspect, while also both forming quincunx aspects to the same planet, or in this case, to the South Node. The South Node in astrology represents our karmic past - or what we know to feel safe, comfortable, and secure. (Please don’t answer that call or text from your ex…) We are all experiencing a deep clearing of our past, some things are going to be physically or spiritually removed from our lives. It is all with divine purpose. Venus sextile Jupiter asks us to be fully present and in flow with our lives. The more that we try to go against this natural flow, the more challenges we will face. Remember, everything is happening for you, not to you. Release perfection. Release expectations. Release past patterns that no longer align with where you are being guided to go. What is for you will never pass you by.

  • What is my soul asking me to release?

  • What illusions are keeping you in repeated cycles?

  • Which relationships are harmonious and reciprocal?

  • What areas of my life require more filtering to achieve authenticity?

This isn’t an easy Lunar Eclipse - it is full of release and confrontation. If you aren’t able to confront the things that are keeping you stagnant in life, you will not be able to receive the gifts that are waiting for you. We are being asked to slam the door in the face of things that keep us small. We are in Aries season, which relates to ushering in new things - but the new things we are being called to usher in are all related to the self. We are bringing newness of the self to our own lives. We are preparing to embody our full, spiritual potential. Don’t betray yourself. Allow yourself to flow with the Universe. Trust that everything is working in alignment with your highest good.

Ground your soul, flow with the Universe, and allow the energies to alchemize within you.
